Repetition in your favourite songs.

This project was an exploration of the repetition of chords being played on an acoustic guitar within a single song. The chords are from the song How To Save a Life by The Fray (G, D Em, C) and are represented by dots that show the formation the fingers take to play each chord, repeated for each strum of the guitar. The large-scale laser cut piece utilises a minimalist style to encourage the viewer to think about the individual elements and sequences of repetition that come together to create a song, and how when placed in this format it creates more of a visual pattern rather than a sound piece.
